SS 130 is a fast growing, warm season summer annual grass which can be harvested multiple times during the growing season as pasture, hay or silage. SS 130 carries the Hi-Gest® brown midrib trait to reduce lignin in the plant for improved palatability and feed intake, resulting in enhanced animal performance when fed to dairy, beef or sheep. SS 130 features finer stems and more tillering than sorghum x sudan hybrids, making it a great choice for hay. Finer stems and leaves allow this variety to dry down quickly. First cutting can be ready within 50 days after planting with subsequent cuttings every 30 to 40 days.
