Eco-Til Radish

Eco-Til Radish

Our Eco-till Soil-Buster Radish (Raphanus sativus var. niger) is a Daikon-type forage radish specifically developed for fall/winter cover crop applications. Relatively new to the Mid-Atlantic region, it is a member of the Brassica family that also includes rapeseed, canola, mustard, cabbage. The Eco-till radishes offer impressive benefits to the soil and the environment including the reduction of soil compaction, improved nutrient recycling, increased organic matter, enhancement of soil tilth and suppression of weeds to name a few. These can be planted in late July-October though later plantings are less susceptible to frost and more likely to overwinter. Seeding rate is12-15 lbs./A conventional or 8-10 lbs./A via a no-till drill at a depth of 1/4 - 1/2 inch.
